Stace in transition Congrats to the Embark triathletes that have now been upgraded to 70.3 Half Ironman finishers! What an amazing 6 months of training, racing and most importantly meeting some wonderful friends. The 4 days in East London was a buzz of excitement and nerves, but before we knew it, it was race day! We had HOT conditions with humidity which made the run quite uncomfortable, but didnt stop the athletes from awesome results. [...]

Today was the final training session before we tackle the big race next week. We did our final sea swim preparation, and boy did we have rough conditions to contend with! Buffalo City can throw any rough sea conditions at us now, as what we practiced in today is going to give us great confidence if the sea is rough. The water was 14 degrees so we were able to get a decent session in. [...]
Today was our final big brick session. We completed a 60km hilly course (this included The Glen and Suikkerbossie) and then we did a 1h off the bike run. I am very happy with the level of fitness of the athletes at this stage, and am holding thumbs for good weather conditions on race day. Its going to be a fantastic weekend of racing and socialising. Just 15 days now until race day, so next week [...]
Last night the Embark athletes ran the Sunset 10k running race. It started in the V&A Waterfront and headed out on the promenade towards Seapoint before turning around and heading back past the Radisson Hotel and to the finish. Some great performances all round for the athletes, we for those that are not on holiday already! 1 month to go to the big race!
Kylie and Lisa We returned to Platteklip Gorge again for some more punishment! More lunges, more strength work, more up and up and up! The Gorge is amazing, experiencing sunny conditions at the bottom and walking through the Gorge at the top in thick misty clouds. Once at the top the sun is shinning bright over Hout Bay side. The views are amazing, but marred by the fact that we have all the steps to [...]
