Running Injuries is a special interest of mine and as a runner myself, I understanding that the physics of running is important to treating the injuries that runners get.
Endurance runners are faced with forces more then two and a half times their body weight when they run. Thus you need more than just endurance for the body to cope with these forces. Factors such as muscle strength, length and their control is important for your body’s stability when you run.
At Genine Manchip Physiotherapy we incorporate gait analysis as part of our comprehensive evaluation of you. We encourage that you bring your running shoes and we analysis your running style on the treadmill to identify any dysfunction that could possibly be a cause of your pain. Our aim is to get you back to training as soon as possible and to prevent future injuries. Gait Analysis can also help us identify “weak links” which could be preventing you from achieving your personal best.
