I used to think that @ironmantri was all about pace, position and performance but this past Sunday showed me how much more there is to this amazing event!!!
My squad of athletes bought out the real side of it all and made for a day of Hi 5s, smiles, laughs, happy tears, team pics mid race, gees and celebrations!
To my team, you all have made me fall in love with this event again!!! It was an absolute privilege to train you and train with you, to race and race with you.
Christelle van der Watt
What an incredible journey the last few months have been. It’s been very rocky & emotional, but at the end the hard work & long hours paid off. Thank you @johan.vdwatt for all your support and allowing me to follow my dream. Thanks to @embarktri family & the best coach @trimikered for pushing my limits. To all my friends & family, thank you for all the support! Running down the red carpet & hearing those words “Christelle, you are an IRONMAN” is one of the best feelings & memories! #ironmansouthafrica2019 #embark #trilife#womanfortri @ Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape
Last week this time we were all at war with the BEAST💪🏼The journey, weekend away & race surpassed all expectations tenfold🎉Thanks team #EmbarkTri & Mike Reddington for the most insane build up to a race 🙏🏼 Well done to each athlete & my fellow team mates for crushing it out there💪🏼
Woaw, the joy the sport brings makes all the early mornings, long runs & rides so worth it & it comes with a 6 Pack 😂
Cannot wait for more….🤙🏼🥳🇿🇦
It always seems impossible until it’s done.
From breaking my arm on 21 December to finishing IRONMAN! I couldn’t be happier!
More important than finishing the race was the IM journey, the bonds that were formed and the memories that were made.
I feel truly blessed to have been able to cross the finish line!
Grateful for all the support from friends and family and thank you to the best coach @trimikered ! And stoked about my 3:50 marathon! #memoriesforlife
