IRONMAN South Africa training starts 3 Oct…

20160410_225359_resizedYou can train with the various groups across Western Cape and follow the proven program that has achieved a stack of finishers medals over the years. If you require a more personalised approach to suit your routine, then get in touch too, and set up a time to meet the coach and set your program.

All programs are presented through Training Peaks, and you will always have your program 2 weeks ahead to plan your life. You will receive a 6 month wall calendar outlining the programs progression, the big weeks, the race leading up to the race and the BIG WEEKENDS!

Over the weeks and months you will learn EVERYTHING you need to know about being 100% confident going into the race. And because we have many coaches with Embark we will always be able to help you. Being able to train and ‘suffer’ with other athletes make all the difference on the long training sessions, so come and join our social and fun training group.

 

target-hr-zonesThe group training program kicks off with a heart rate session to set your heart rate zones for the program, so it’s useful to have a heart rate monitor but not essential. The program follows a weekly routine of swim, bike run and strength and most importantly REST!

If you aiming at the IRONMAN 70.3 East London then the program takes this into account, and after that race, you continue towards IMSA. Those not doing the 70.3, will build up in the same way and just do a ‘mock’ ultra-distance race on that weekend.
