Our Moms2tri program has kicked off in Jozi…

20160614_144951_resized‘I was nervous at the mere prospect of joining the moms2tri group, but after the orientation I am confident I can do this. The program is really broken down into the 3 disciplines of swim/bike/run and with the slow introduction of swimming this suits me perfectly. First a duathlon and then a triathlon! I love the idea of indoor cycling at the Concept Cyclery, great idea guys! Watch this space as I become a triathlete mom!’

Starting Tuesday 21st June, we kick off with the first session of our new moms2tri group training. Our program is designed to get our full time moms into multisport at a more do-able hour of the day, that is the morning, after the school run. Our program starts with indoor riding on a Tuesday and Thursday at 9-10am at the upmarket and vibey Specialized Concept Cyclery in Melrose arch. Accompanied with The Grind Company, it’s the perfect mix of exercise and that well-earned coffee!  Running will be from the concept store too, but on a Wednesday 9-10am. We will slowly start to bring in the swimming, once the fitness improves and we are happy with the level of progression. We are aiming to complete the Discovery Sandton Duathlon at the end of the October. That’s our moms goal! And then we have the rest of the summer to get our swimming up, and we will then aim for the Discovery Cape Town Triathlon in April next year.

IMG-20160615-WA0010No level of fitness is expected quite yet, but the program caters for all levels, so super fit moms will be challenged too. We will all learn together as a group and progress, gain confidence, lose weight and feel great together. If you interested in starting, our best advice is to start NOW, while everyone is beginning to learn multisport and starting out. Don’t leave it for 3 more weeks, rather start now.
