The Embark program changes a lot of lives, including my own…

This email is very belated, but better late than never.  The last few weeks have been a bit crazy, settling back into normal life after the Ironman 70.3.  I am still training and love the fact that i now have the confidence to swim, bike and run on my own.  I still plan to attend the ATC sessions, do races and will definitely return to Embark (potentially for the program after the ITU, or at the latest for the Ironman 70.3 training in Aug).  It is my goal to do the full Ironman in 2016.

I just wanted to thank you for the Embark program. It was an amazing experience and far exceeded all of my expectation.  Not only did it change my life in a very positive way, but it also inspired people around me to become more active (whether it was taking up triathlon or another sport). Embark is the absolute way for beginners to get into the sport of triathlon as their guidance and motivation creates a friendly and fun group environment for training. I love it!!!

The aspects of the program that impacted me the most was:

  • having such a patient and knowledgeable coach
  • all the support from other coaches and athletes (like running coach Garth hi-fiving me after I nearly died going up Camps Bay drive the first time, all the motivational words during races, cheers while crossing the finish line, or just random positive vibes from other individuals in the group)
  • all the new friends I made totally unexpectedly – I have met some of the nicest people and there is always such a good and positive vibe between everyone

Maybe you know this already but your program changes a lot of lives, including my own.  Thanks for that!

Enough being emo, good luck to all the beginners that have now started training for their first triathlon,  good luck to all the 70.3 finishers that now go on to do their PB at the Discovery ITU Cape Town Triathlon, and of course good luck to all the ironmen and woman training with Embark for IMSA in March!

Cheers,

Freddy
