Swim/Run/Swim/Run/Swim…

With just under a month to go until our first triathlon, Clanwilliam Fitness Festival, we have been doing an intensive week of multi discipline brick sessions. Tonight’s was 300m swim, 2km run, 300m swim, 2km run and finishing off with a 300m swim. The triathletes swim zig zag all the way across the pool, starting on one end and ending up on the other, crossing underneath the lane ropes each 50m. Then its a fast transition into running gear and off for the run. A great way to prepare for the usually dizziness felt when exiting the water at a race and having to run to T1. The weather has warmed up considerably this week, so running outside was no problem. What i am trying to say is that i only got half the dirty looks in comparison to other weeks! Great session and the triathletes are really getting into the training now! See you first thing in the morning for strength work on the promenade!
