Group training for Gun Run Half Marathon starts 25 JulyJuly 25, 2017
The Gun Run Half Marathon is a fantastic half marathon right on our doorstep of the Atlantic seaboard. Embark has set up an 11 week program that combines all the necessary training so that you can feel confident going into the race.
The training is fun and focused in a coached group environment.
How will the training work:
You will receive a weekly program that includes the group training sessions, and the individual sessions that you are required to do on your own. There will be three to four coached group running sessions per week. As we increase the mileage we will start to do longer runs on the weekend too.
The program is broken down into building phases of training. The mileage increases for 3 weeks and then we recover for a week, and then back in to building for 3 weeks until recovery week again. We will keep the training fun but challenging. We will explore Cape Town and all the running it has to offer.
If you are a new or beginner runner, or even an intermediate athlete, the Embark program and coached group training will inspire and motivate you to run your best marathon yet!
